Hailing from Sacramento, California, I'm somewhat of a mutt, genetically. My heritage is Irish, Norwegian, Dutch, Austrian, English and German.
Growing up I was obsessed with soccer. I played center mid-field and was a relentless scorer. But after a series of knee injuries, and three consecutive arthroscopic surgeries, I had to give up my athletic dreams fairly early at the age of 16.
It set me on a completely different path from what my 11 year old self wanted to be. I wanted to compete, to be a warrior in my chosen arena, but losing my legs forced me to redefine my path.
I attended Chico State in Northern California, where I obtained a degree in Construction Management, with an option in Architectural Project Management.
After graduation I got a job as a project engineer for a general contractor, thinking that I was going to be a builder, but in 2008-2009, it was the wrong time to be starting a career in construction. The recession bit hard and I was laid off in 2009. But it ended up being a blessing in disguise as it led me to taking a huge leap of faith shortly thereafter when I flew across the world to Australia to do a yearlong working holiday Visa.
It was a major reset. A critical point of no return to who I used to be. It opened up Pandora's box, and ultimately led me to spending over a year and half backpacking overseas in my 20s.
Travelling and living frugally out of a backpack opened my mind to new horizons and I'll always hold a special place in my heart for Australia because of that experience. Getting the opportunity to live, work, and travel around that beautiful continent at 25-26 years old and then subsequent other countries, all on a shoestring budget, in a fly by the seat of my pants sort of style was a life-changing experience.
I went on to travel to a handful of other countries in Western Europe the UK, New Zealand, Thailand, Cambodia, Bali, Indonesia, Singapore among others. I even made sure to kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland!
The extended travel away from the homeland redefined me and inspired me to start my journey into the arts. I'd always wanted to try acting so I quickly found an acting class and within a couple months I was performing on stages in the Sacramento area.
One notable character undertaking was getting to play Sherlock Holmes in the play Sherlock's Last Case. I never thought I'd be able to handle doing accents let alone acting at all but hearing so many dialects travelling, prepared me for it. And believe me MATE, I also know how to speak Australian.
I love staying physically fit, and have been on the vegetarian/vegan journey since August 2017.
Some of my favorite on screen performers and industry influences are Heath Ledger, Keanu Reeves, Nick Cage, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Joaquin Phoenix, Larry David, Jack Nicholson, Johnny Depp, Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, the Coen Brothers, Sylvester Stallone, Matt Damon, Christopher Nolan, Charlie Kaufman and Quentin Tarantino. I've been compared to Brandon Lee A LOT.
I've been slowly working on developing my skills as a screenwriter and am very close to finishing a feature script called 'WHITE RABBIT', which is a story about a graphic novelist on the verge of a big deadline on Halloween. I've also been developing another script called 'SHE CAME FROM THE ADJACENT', a fish out of water story of two friends trying to make a Sci-Fi TV show.
I shot a Fantasy Sci-fi pilot in November 2019 called 'SECRET IDENTITY' based off the MAGIC WARS SAGA series of books, written by Chrys Phillips. I play the role of CASPIAS, a mysterious, swashbuckling bandit. I trained weekly at AMAW Los Angeles before the lockdown.
